Title: Flames, Chaos, and Voldy- It’s the end of the world as we know it!
Author: Alison Wynn
Co-author/editor: Laura Washington
"Ah, I love the smell of fire in the air!" Fiammetta said, as
she moved through the dead streets of Ariel City. The city had become a burning
hell because of a Demon Lord named Devinis. Ariel City use to be beautiful, it
had a warm climate and beach, your perfect vacation destination! But, now the
city looks as though a bomb hit it! There were burning apartment buildings,
broken glass on sidewalk, and corpses littered here and there. Also, the beach
had been totally polluted with red blood and floating bodies and as for the
climate, it changed to a constantly cold, harsh wind. It was horrible! The army
tried to take down Devinis’s castle but failed at their attempt to over throw
the demon lord.
She wouldn’t have come to this place
under any other circumstances, but she had received a mission to find an
adolescent named Aden and get him out of there! She thought it would be simple
job for her, being a demon hunter, the third place winner in competition for
‘The strongest person in world’, as well for her being known as to the demons
as ‘The curse of the flames’. ‘Flames, as most people called her for her expert
fire and battle skills, thought it would be an easy task, but soon she would
find out she was in for more then she could handle…
Chapter 2: You can’t beat Flames
"Okay, so where do I go now?"
Flames murmured as she walked. CAW! A bird squawked, piercing the
silence in the city of death. Fiammetta stopped and glanced up to cayenne
sky to see a green hawk fluttering in the breeze. "Hmm, Green hawk…Green…
hawk…Wait minute! GreenHawk!" Flames said profoundly as the bird made
another shrieking caw and took to a higher level of the sky before it flew off.
“Hey, come back here!” She ran after the sly bird. ‘Even though this could be a
trap I have too see him!’ she thought as she passed through the maze of streets
to reach a dead end street. There was a blaring campfire in the mist of the
back road; there was the smell of herbs such as sage, sandalwood, and cedar
through the air and a silent silhouette shadow of a human was over looking the
fire. Gracefully, the bird swooped down to the owner’s shoulder. Flames stood
quietly for a moment then spoke up. “You know that fight was hoax!” She said
sternly. Slowly, the owner of the turned to face her, his hair was a deep shade
of evergreen and was pulled straight up like mow hawk, a headband or cord was
tied around his forehead.
“The reason, why you never win is
because you’re too arrogant.” his voice was calm like the wind. The bird flew
away from his shoulder with another shriek and he proceeded toward her and away
from the burning embers of his fire.
”What can’t kill me makes me stronger.”
She took a step to him and aimed her rapier at his face. He didn’t even flinch
at the sight of the steel sword. “Hey, you still have the scar from the
tournament.” She smiled happily as she saw what looked like a jagged scar
running down from his temples to his nose.
“I have many scars, mind and body.” His
voice was emotionless but serene, he still didn’t move away from the sword.
Silence struck again and time stood still…
“Then soon have more!” She slashed down
quickly, though GreenHawk evaded the attack and moved to the right, throwing
off her aim. He jumped back as Flames ran at him with a flying kick. He was
able to quickly block by changing stance in time to deflect the hit!
“Ah!” Greenhawk’s repel threw Flames
back into the air and flipped her back. Luckily she landed on her feet,
but stumbled around for a bit trying to regain lost ground.
“I must admit that was a nice one!” She
said as went back into fighting stance and ran up to him for a better hit.
Punch, kick,
block, and again punch, kick, block they went on forever, it seemed. Flames
added in power kicks and fast punches, while GreenHawk was more defensive and
tactical.
“Come on! Fight back!” Flames shouted as she tried to break his defense over
and over again.
“There is no need to I would have won
either way.” He grabbed her arm and hurled her downward to the ground. “The
spirits tell me you’re not ready yet.” GreenHawk said towering over her. Before
she could say word there was a loud bell chime coming from a dark castle that
loomed over the entire city.
‘That has to be Devinis’s Castles’
Flames thought as GreenHawk turned toward the sound and listened to it… ‘This is
the perfect chance!’ Though she was still on the ground she did a swiping kick
but unfortunately he made another evade and jumped upward into the sky. He made
a small whistling chant and a swift shadow past over Flames, she glanced up to
see a gigantic bird as large as a pterodactyls! It swept down and caught the
Indian, GreenHawk, in its claws and took off for the castle ahead. “So you’re
leaving me now are you GreenHawk!” Flames screamed at the top of her lungs, so
he could hear her from afar, but no reply reached her, if there ever was one.
“Ugh!” She made an irritated grunt then glared at the dark castle above and
moved along through the dark streets of Ariel City.
Chapter 3: Mary’s discovery…
~~ Two weeks earlier ~~
‘Father...’ Mary’s thoughts fell like rain through her head as she stood at her
father’s mausoleum. The graveyard was dark, quiet, and breezy. She touched the
cold marble of the mausoleum wall and trailed her hand along it as she walked
up the stairs to the front of the grave and tugged open the gates.
Dear Mary,
I know this might sound strange to you but I found it! I’m sure I have told you
about documents of Teivel before, yes? That they contain when the demon
portal is to open to the human world. You must know how astonished I was to be
seeing such a remarkable article of mythology, right in my hands! Strangely, I
found that the wax seal that was melted on the manuscript was the symbol of
your mother’s family crest! I asked the museum if I could bring the artifact to
America for more studying. Gladly, they gave it over to me! I can’t wait to
show it to you! I wonder what your mother would think if she saw this… well,
rest her soul.
I really miss you my sweet daughter, Mary!
Sincerely,
Your father, Author
P.S.
I’m getting this strange feeling that I’m being watched…
‘A couple weeks later, after my father came back from the excavation, he died…
They said it was murder…’ She stared at the elegant coffin in front of her. It
was closed, for obvious reasons -you wouldn’t want to see his face-. The
identity of the murderer was unknown and there were no suspects or any
witnesses. Everyone thought it was robbery or a serial killer. His death was a
weird and bizarre case; part of his body was frozen over by ice. The cops
mentioned that it could have been liquid nitrogen but how anyone could get a
hold of such a dangerous chemical is another puzzle. The test results came
back, but there was no explanation of how part of the body was frozen over…
“The only other thing they found was that blood had been taken from his body,
like he got a shot or injection from a needle… But, my dad hated needles! He
would be a big crybaby and the doctors and I would have to hold him down to get
blood taken. He would never go to the doctors with out me… I miss him so much…’
Mary looked silently at her father’s coffin, it was open. The freezing hadn’t
done anything to the body, it just made him look pale, cold, and stiff. They
had defrosted his body for the funeral, the most the police could do… Mary didn’t
want anyone dissecting her father. The case was then eventually shut down
because of lack of evidence and suspects. All they could do was say it was a
strange and bizarre death.
Mary cried every time she thought of it… but she tried to keep herself strong
as she stared at the unmoving face of her dead father… “Father, I’m sorry…” She
started to cry… She didn’t know what to say or think anymore, she just stood
there and cried… Suddenly she noticed something odd… She looked down at her
father’s left pocket and saw a red envelope sticking out. She carefully pulled
the letter out…. “Mary Prismkey” was written in bright blue letters, decorating
the front of the envelope. She ripped it open and pulled out the letter.
Dear Mary,
I’m writing this to you as quickly as I can! Weird things are going on because of the documents of Teivel. I’m being followed Mary and I don’t know what to do about it. There was this weird man… I think he’s insane! He calls himself Mr. Frost. He has been following me since the trip back from Britain. I don’t know what to do! He’s in the house right now Mary! Mary I hope you get this letter because I need to tell you that you I-
The message suddenly stopped and only left one word at the middle of the end of the letter. Ariel city
At that moment, Mary remembered that the police said he had been writing up his will at the time and that in the Will he strictly said for him to wear his blue suit. So this meant that he place this just incase anything went wrong… Rage filled in Mary’s heart and she said in a dark, quiet and angry tone.
”Father I will get vengeance for you.” She declared and walked out of the mausoleum in rage.
Chapter 4: V.O.L.D.Y
~~ Three day earlier ~~
” Mi-a-hii Mi-a-huu Mi-a-haa Mi-a-ha ha” Sang a bright spirited young lass as she
rode on her motorcycle across the ruff terrain. Her surrounding was desert and
couple cacti maybe a mountain or two… She finally stopped and took a break
pulled over to the side of the road. The sun wasn’t so hot unlike the day
before which gave her quite of a tan. Three days she had been in the desert. So
run down joints in the middle of nowhere started to look-like heaven to her!
Though she didn’t want to associate with lower class like: drunkards and loose
women. She would rather sleep out in the desert then talk to such lowlifes. She
liked neat people, kind people that also had a sense of humor. Though she was
quirky at times from most likely watching too much Monty Python, she was still
a pretty average person, in her mind anyway…
”Ugh! Why is the desert so boring!” She complained out loud. As she went to the
small compartment box on the back of her motorcycle.
”I mean it’s just a wasteland! All I see is cacti and sand! When is there going
to be something new or different around here! Like a pink magically elephant
appears in the middle of the highway and does a little dance or something…” She
took out of her compartment box bottle of water and started to drink. She
looked up at the sky; its colors true radiant blue and sun was a bright as
ever. But of course she didn’t look straight into the sun because that would be
completely stupid! But, of course Voldy still likes shiny thing!
”God give me a pink elephant!” She stretched out her arms and yelled like a
crazy lady! CAW! She open her eyes to gigantic green bird fly across the
sky with amazing speed. So quick so fast it went in a snap… Voldy eyes were
wide and her dropped open… The there was along pause for her in that moment…
then finally she spoke up…
”Thank god that thing didn’t shit on me!” She said then looked around.
”Well god… I wanted a pink elephant but a gigantic green bird is fine with me!”
She sat back on her bike and started it up.
”Shme!!!!!!!” She screamed out something different language though no
soul will ever understand it because she is Voldy! |
